✅  Sock Categories 

📂 Create Stock Categories in TallyPrime

A Stock Category provides a parallel classification of Stock Items.
It allows you to classify items across different Stock Groups.

This helps you generate reports for:

• Alternative products
• Substitute items
• Items with similar features

For example, different brands of Soap may belong to different Stock Groups,
but can be placed under one Stock Category called Bath Soap.

🛠 Steps to Create Stock Category

🪜 Step-by-Step Procedure

1. Go to Gateway of Tally → Select Create →
   Type or Select Stock Category → Press Enter.

   Alternative: Press Alt + G (Go To) →
   Create Master → Select Stock Category.

2. Name & Alias:
   Enter the name of the Stock Category.
   You can also provide one or more Alias names if required.
3. Under:
   Select Primary or an existing Stock Category.
   If no category exists, select Primary.

   If required, press Alt + C to create a master on the fly.

4. Press Ctrl + A to Accept and Save.

📌 Example

• Stock Category: Bath Soap
• Under: Primary

Now, different soap brands (Pears, Santoor, Dove, etc.) can belong to different
Stock Groups but still be grouped under the Bath Soap category.
