✅ Data Repair

Data Repair means fixing corrupted or damaged company data in TallyPrime.

Data may get corrupted due to:

• Sudden power failure

• System crash

• Virus attack

• Improper shutdown

• Hard disk issues

👉 When data is corrupted, Tally may show:

• “Data Damaged” message

• Company not loading

• Errors while opening reports

📝 Steps for Data Repair in TallyPrime

⚠️ Make sure TallyPrime is closed before starting repair.

Method 1: Using Rewrite (Inside Tally)

1. Open TallyPrime

2. Select the Company

3. Press Alt + K

4. Select Rewrite Data

5. Press Enter

6. Wait until process completes

✅ Data will be repaired.

Method 2: Using Tally Repair Tool (Advanced)

1. Close TallyPrime

2. Open TallyPrime Application Folder

3. Select Repair Company Data option

4. Browse Data Folder

5. Click Repair

6. Wait for completion

🔄 Data Migration 

Data Migration means converting data from:

• Tally ERP 9 → TallyPrime

• Old Tally version → Latest TallyPrime

Migration updates:

• GST features

• New reports

• New security options

• Latest format compatibility

📝 Steps for Migration to TallyPrime

1. Install and Open TallyPrime

2. Select Select Company

3. Choose company created in older version

1. Tally will show Migrate Data? → Yes

2. Press Enter

3. Wait until migration completes

✅ Company is now upgraded to TallyPrime format.

📌 Important Points

• Always take Backup before Repair or Migration

• Do not interrupt system during process

• Migration is one-time process

• After migration, company may not open in old version
